PSCRB Updating is required for officers and senior crew whose PSCRB certificate is approaching expiry or has expired, and who must meet revalidation requirements under STCW and MCA regulations.

The Updating course refreshes practical survival craft and rescue boat competencies, including launching procedures, command responsibilities, survivor management, and emergency decision-making.
Yes. You will be assessed during hands-on survival craft and rescue boat exercises, with emphasis on safety, leadership, and correct operational procedures.
If you do not meet the required standard, you may take a resit. Instructors will explain what needs improvement before reassessment.
After successful completion, your PSCRB certification is revalidated for five years, in line with STCW and MCA requirements.
English is essential — both written and spoken. You must understand instructions, communicate during practical exercises, and complete written tests in English.
Wear suitable clothing for practical training. For water-based exercises, bring clothing you don’t mind getting wet and follow all safety instructions provided by instructors.
