Admissions will confirm eligibility before your course start.
Updating STCW10 Basic Training refreshes the practical elements of PST (Personal Survival Techniques) and FPFF (Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting), as required by the MCA for STCW revalidation.
Modules such as EFA, PSSR, and PSA are not re-taught or re-examined as part of the Updating course.
That is usually acceptable. Non-MCA STCW certificates can be accepted if they were issued by an authority on the IMO White List and comply with STCW 2010. Certificates are checked before confirmation.
Once completed successfully, your updated STCW certification will be valid for another 5 years, as required under STCW 2010 regulations.
Students without suitable clothing will not be permitted to take part in practical exercises.
