Galileo Maritime Academy is the business name of Galileo Maritime Company Limited, a company registered in Thailand.

All contracts for training, accommodation, and related services are entered into with Galileo Maritime Company Limited.

In these Terms and Conditions, Galileo Maritime Company Limited may also be referred to as “the Academy”, “we”, “us”, or “our”.

1. About this website

This website is operated by Galileo Maritime Company Limited, trading as Galileo Maritime Academy.

The website provides information about our training courses, facilities, accommodation, and allows users to submit enquiries and make bookings.

By using this website, submitting any form, or making a payment, you agree to these Website Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

Payments made through this website are processed securely by Stripe, a third-party payment service provider.

By making a payment, you also agree to Stripe’s own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for temporary unavailability, delays, or errors caused by third-party systems.

All content on this website, including text, images, videos, logos, and course materials, is owned by or licensed to Galileo Maritime Academy.

You may view and download content for personal, non-commercial use only.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or use any website content for commercial purposes without prior written permission.

5. Accuracy of website information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information on this website is accurate and up to date.

However, the website may occasionally contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions, including in relation to course descriptions, schedules, pricing, availability, or accommodation.

We reserve the right to correct such information at any time without prior notice.

B. Booking & Training Terms

1. Definitions

In these Booking & Training Terms, the following words have the meanings set out below:

A partial payment (normally 25% of the Course Fees) taken to secure a Course place.

If the calculated 25% deposit would be less than 10,000 THB, we do not take a deposit and require full payment instead

3. Pricing, tax, currency, and receipts

All Course prices are displayed clearly at the time of booking.

Receipts and payment confirmations are issued electronically.

What is included in each Course, and what is not, is clearly stated on the relevant Course page on our website at the time of booking.

5. Payments & Automatic Charges

5.1 Deposit and initial payment

To secure a place on a Course, payment is required as follows:

5.2 Courses requiring document prerequisite checks

For some Courses, eligibility depends on a document prerequisite check (for example, existing certificates or qualifications).

By entering your card details, you authorise the Academy to:

Any remaining balance will be automatically charged to the same card 7 days before the Course Start Date, unless stated otherwise.

It is your responsibility to ensure that sufficient funds are available on the card used.

5.5 Failed payments

5.7 Cooling-off period and non-refundable payments

Where a Course has a scheduled Start Date, the statutory cooling-off period does not apply once the Course is confirmed, as places are limited and preparation and capacity are reserved in advance.

Where a booking is made within 7 days of the Course Start Date, the student expressly agrees that no cooling-off period applies and that payments are non-refundable, subject to the Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy.

7.1 How to request rescheduling

All rescheduling requests must be made in writing by email.

Rescheduling is subject to course availability and confirmation by the Academy.

9. If We Cancel or Change a Course

We always aim to run Courses as scheduled. However, we may need to cancel or change a Course due to operational reasons or circumstances beyond our control. Where possible, we will notify students of any cancellation or rescheduling at least 7 days before the Course Start Date.

The Academy is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of earnings, travel, accommodation, or visa costs

Some Courses require a minimum number of participants.
If the minimum is not reached, we will inform you at least 7 days before the Course Start Date and offer rescheduling or a full refund.

We may make minor changes to Courses (such as schedules, instructors, or facilities) where necessary. Minor changes do not give rise to a right to cancel or refund.

10. Prerequisites & Compliance

10.1 Course prerequisites

Each Course has specific prerequisites (such as prior certificates, sea service, medical fitness, or language ability). These are clearly listed on the Course page at the time of booking.

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they meet all prerequisites before attending the Course.

10.2 Admissions checks and document verification

All prerequisite documents are reviewed by the Academy’s Admissions team, who will assess whether the student is eligible to attend the Course.

Payment is taken only after documents have been checked and eligibility confirmed in writing.

10.3 Issuing authority and regulatory compliance

All certificates and documents must:

10.4 English language and medical disclosure

Students must have a sufficient level of English language ability to safely participate in training and assessments.

Students must fully disclose any relevant medical conditions that could affect safety or participation.
Failure to disclose required medical information may result in removal from the Course without refund or credit.

10.5 IYT eLearning requirements

For IYT Courses that require completion of theory via the IYT eLearning platform:

11. Course Self-Declaration, Code of Conduct & Limit of Liability

11.1 Mandatory pre-course declaration

Before participating in any Course, all students are required to complete and electronically sign the Academy’s:

“Course Self-Declaration, Code of Conduct & Limit of Liability Form.”

This form confirms the student’s fitness to participate, understanding of course risks, and agreement to Academy rules.

Failure to complete and sign this form before the Course Start Date will result in denial of participation, without refund or credit.

12.2 Part of the contract

The signed Course Self-Declaration, Code of Conduct & Limit of Liability Form:

By signing the form, the student confirms that all information provided is true, complete, and up to date.

12.3 Fitness, risk awareness, and responsibility

By signing the form, the student acknowledges that:

The Academy will take all reasonable steps to provide a safe training environment.
However, the Academy is not responsible for loss, injury, or illness, except where caused by its negligence.

12.4 Conduct and dismissal

Breach of the Code of Conduct, safety rules, or Academy policies (including alcohol, drugs, harassment, or unsafe behaviour) may result in immediate dismissal from the Course.

In such cases, no refund or credit will be issued.

12.5 Refusal or withdrawal of participation

The Academy reserves the right to:

12.6 Substance use (alcohol and drugs)

The possession, use, or influence of alcohol, cannabis, or any illegal or controlled substances is strictly prohibited on Academy premises, during training, or while participating in any Academy activity.

Any student found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or in possession of such substances, will be immediately dismissed from the Course on safety grounds.

In such cases, no refund or credit will be issued.

13. Accommodation, meals, and facilities

13.1 Accommodation eligibility

Accommodation is available only to students who have booked accommodation as part of their Course or as an add-on.
Accommodation is not available to non-students, and visitors are not permitted at any time.

A private room means single occupancy only. Visitors are not allowed in private or shared rooms.

13.2 Check-in and check-out

Check-in is self-service. Detailed instructions will be sent by email prior to arrival.

Late check-out is subject to availability and will be charged at one additional night’s accommodation fee.

Luggage may be stored at your own risk in the designated storage area (lobby under the stairs).

13.3 Accommodation type and availability

Accommodation is typically provided in shared twin rooms, unless a private room has been booked and confirmed in advance.

During busy periods or due to operational constraints, the Academy may arrange comparable accommodation in nearby hotels.

13.4 Meals and dietary requirements

A hot lunch is typically provided on training days only, unless stated otherwise on the Course page.

If you have booked a Course package or bundle that includes breaks between Courses:

The same rule applies to full board meal packages: meals are provided on training days only, not during break days between Courses.

Meal packages are available only where stated and may be offered as an optional add-on.

Students must inform the Academy of any dietary requirements or allergies at least 7 days before the Course Start Date.
We cannot guarantee the availability of special or customised meals if this information is provided later.

13.5 Facilities and amenities

The following are provided to students staying in Academy accommodation:

Self-service laundry facilities are provided free of charge for students who have booked accommodation.

13.7 Security and responsibility

CCTV cameras operate throughout the property for safety and security.

The Academy is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.

14. Damage and indemnity

Students are responsible for any loss, damage, or breakage to Academy property, equipment, or accommodation caused by their negligent or wilful acts or omissions.

This includes, without limitation:

Students agree to indemnify the Academy for all reasonable costs incurred as a result of such damage, including repair or replacement costs.

15. Complaints & Feedback Handling

If you have a complaint or concern, please contact us in writing at info@galileomaritimeacademy.com within 14 days of the issue arising.

We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and to resolve them as quickly and fairly as reasonably possible.

In addition, the Academy provides an anonymous feedback and complaints mailbox, located in the lobby next to the boardroom.
Students may submit anonymous complaints or suggestions directly to the Academy Director via this mailbox.

All feedback, whether named or anonymous, is taken seriously and reviewed appropriately.

Refunds, where applicable, are handled strictly in accordance with the Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy. Submitting a complaint does not automatically entitle a student to a refund.

16. Liability, Insurance & Personal Property

Training activities involve inherent risks, including physical activity, use of equipment, and fire and  water-based exercises.

Students participate at their own risk and are responsible for their personal belongings. The Academy is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal property.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Students are strongly advised to arrange adequate medical, travel, and personal insurance before attending a Course.

17. Force Majeure

The Academy is not responsible for failure or delay in providing Courses due to events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

In such cases, the Academy will offer rescheduling or course credit in line with normal operations. Refunds are not normally provided unless required by law.

18. Data Protection, Marketing & Media Use

Personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By attending a Course, you acknowledge that photos or videos may be taken during training. Use of such media for promotional purposes is governed by the Course Self-Declaration & Code of Conduct Form, which includes explicit consent options.

You may withdraw marketing consent at any time by contacting us in writing.

19. Legal Boilerplate

In the event of any inconsistency, these Booking & Training Terms prevail over website content, except where the Course Self-Declaration Form imposes stricter safety or conduct obligations

20. Governing Law & Mandatory Rights

These Terms are governed by the laws of Thailand.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any mandatory consumer rights that may apply under the laws of your country of residence.
